School Based Traineeships & Apprenticeships

SBAs or SATs allow students to learn and do paid work in their chosen SAT area while still at school and as part of the QCE. As well, the student will complete a certificate course to build on the skills learned at work and at school. This training may occur at work, at school, at TAFE or a private registered training organisation.

The advantages of a SAT would include:

  • Credits to the QCE
  • Career training while still at school
  • Paid work
  • Future career options being fulfilled
  • An easier transition into the workforce
  • Industry training
  • Workplace assessment
  • The traineeship can be completed after leaving school.

Students interested in a SAT should:

  • Research a possible SAT from the large list available positions
  • Talk to Mrs Anderson or Mr Eiser
  • Attain experience in the areas through volunteer, part time or holiday jobs; through our work experience, structured work or industry placement programmes.
